PM Hun Manet: People's Health is Important

Kampong Cham: In a recent address, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, emphasized the critical importance of health in the well-being of the Cambodian people, urging the government to prioritize this aspect of public life.

Speaking at the 19th National Fish Day event at Boeung Thom in Kampong Samnang village, Mean commune, Prey Chhor district, on the morning of July 1, 2024, the Prime Minister underscored that while the livelihood of the people is vital, health holds even greater significance. He stressed the government's responsibility to ensure the safety of food, particularly vegetables and meat, for the population.

"Especially the method of cultivation to reduce chemicals a lot," he stated. "Because this is gradually creating a lot of problems."

The Prime Minister's comments highlight the ongoing concerns regarding agricultural practices and their impact on public health. By advocating for reduced chemical usage in farming, he is calling for more sustainable practices to safeguard the health of future generations.

This commitment to public health reflects a broader governmental effort to address and mitigate health risks associated with food safety, ensuring a healthier future for all Cambodians.
